2018 Tailgate Market & Saluda Arts Festival

This May will bring back two annual events in Saluda, the Saluda Tailgate Market & the Saluda Arts Festival.

The Tailgate Market is held from 4:30-6:30 every Friday from May to October, beginning Friday, May 4th. Located in the West Main parking lot, the market is operated by volunteers from the Saluda Business Association, & it serves the City of Saluda, Polk County Agricultural Economic Development, and growers from both Polk and Henderson counties. Local producers are connected with consumers to keep food dollars in the community and support regional fresh food and family farms, thereby protecting the flourishing of beautiful ridges, fertile fields and clean watersheds.

The market has been a spring to fall Saluda tradition since 2010, with neighbors gathering to meet growers and purchase a complete and balanced array of meat, fish, poultry, eggs and cheese, seasonal vegetables and fruit, baked and preserved goods, flowers, herbs, and plants for the home gardener.

2017 Holiday In Community Annual Fundraiser

Each year Heartwood Gallery purchases a handmade holiday ornament to raise funds for a non-profit organization. The artwork is selected for you to give as a gift or to cherish in your own home, as an expression of love for family, friends, & neighbors. When you purchase this ornament, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry, who has provided financial & food assistance to thousands of Polk County residents in need for over 20 years. The ornament we have chosen this year is the Entwined Celtic Heart, cast in pewter by artist Cynthia Webb. Finished with a matte sheen, this heart shimmers subtly as it hangs from a sheer teal ribbon. The ornament costs $18, & is packaged with a card recognizing the donation to the Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry, as well as information about the artist.

Visit Heartwood Gallery to purchase your Entwined Celtic Heart fundraiser gift. You can also call (828)749-9365 or e-mail info@heartwoodsaluda.com for more artist & ordering information.
