2016 Holiday Community Fundraiser Ornament

Each year Heartwood sells a handmade ornament and donates the entire purchase price to Thermal Belt
Outreach Ministry. For over 20 Years Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry has provided financial and food assistance to thousands of Polk County residents in need.

Our 2016 fundraiser ornament is a cherry wood Tree of Life ornament. The ornaments are handcrafted by artist Hannah Simmons in Kempton, PA. Hannah uses sustainably harvested local cherry wood for her ornaments. They make perfect hostess gifts, holiday tree ornaments, or anytime decoration. They are excellent stocking stuffers and they make great thank-you gifts.

It really is the gift that keeps on giving because the entire retail price of $12 goes directly to Thermal Belt Outreach. Help us share the spirit of the season.

Holiday Community Fundraiser Raises Over $1200!

Heartfelt thanks to all of you who participated in our holiday ornament fundraiser for Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry. We sent them a check for $1,260 at the end of December to help them with the very important work they do assisting Polk County residents with food, heating and medical bills. This was the fourth year we have purchased and sold an ornament allocating the entire retail price to Outreach. We have come to love the tradition and love that you support it with your gift giving choices. We are already on the hunt for the 2016 hand crafted ornament.

Heartwood Celebrates Over 30 Years of Serving You American Craft

On Saturday, October 3rd, despite torrential downpours, friends and family came out to help us celebrate our 30th Anniversary.  A reception was held to kick off American Craft Week with our special exhibit - "American Craft Serves Beautifully"- a focus  on serving pieces in glass, pottery, wood and mixed metals. The reception was catered by the Purple Onion who creatively displayed their delicious hors d'oeuvres in a variety of serving pieces from the exhibit.

This is our 6th annual participation in American Craft Week - the nation's largest celebration of handmade American craft. American Craft Week brings together and celebrates those who sell, exhibit, teach, create and appreciate the "creative economy" of American craft. Heartwood's exhibit for this year celebrates the functional and beautiful pieces that create pretty tables and enrich our daily lives.

Thank you to all who weathered the storm to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We are grateful to serve in such a fine community.
